key trends in EU funding for civil society\, and what this means for the
next EU budget Civil society funding is under pressure. Following the cuts
of USAID\, many civil society organisations in EU partner countries have
had to close offices\, scale downoperations\, and look for new funding sou
rces. In this context\, in April 2025\, the European Commission Directorat
e for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) will organise a series of regi
onal webinars on access to EU funding for civil society under the current
EU budget\, in particular the Civil Society thematic programme\, within th
e framework of the Policy Forum on Development (PFD) CONCORD welcomes the
initiative and will complement it with a dedicated capacity building webin
ar under its Meaningful Engagement project. This session will focus on tre
nds in EU funding for CSOs\, drawing on findings from CONCORD’s recent r
eport “Who still holds the Lion’s Share”. The webinar aims to raise
awareness and improve the capacities of Civil Society to engage with and i
nfluence the EU as a global actor that builds meaningful and inclusive par
